BootVault HellBound — Operational Security Edition
Everything Frost does, plus three protocols for the situations cryptography alone does not cover: privacy-sensitive transfers, emergency evacuation, and inheritance.
What HellBound adds
HellBound keeps the whole of Frost — AES-256-GCM storage, BIP39 seeds, air-gapped signing across the supported networks — and adds three operational protocols: XBurnPro, Omega and Lazarus. They address threats that are physical and human rather than cryptographic: coercion, seizure, and the holder's death.
XBurnPro, disposable transfer wallets
XBurnPro puts a temporary wallet between your primary wallet and the recipient, so a sensitive transfer is not made directly from the wallet holding your holdings. Each burner has its own seed, a claim window agreed with the recipient, and an automatic refund path if the funds are never claimed.
Omega, emergency evacuation
Omega moves assets out to wallets you designated in advance across the supported networks and wipes the working device, for the case where you have to abandon a machine or a location quickly. The destinations are configured while you are safe, not during the emergency.
Lazarus, automated inheritance
Lazarus is a dead man's switch with a timeout you choose, in the order of months, and encrypted instructions for the beneficiaries you name. If you stop checking in, the instructions become available to them; if you do check in, nothing happens.
Who it is for
The edition is aimed at holdings in the five and six figure range, and at people whose risk is situational rather than technical: frequent travellers, executives, activists and public figures. It is not a different cryptographic guarantee from Frost; it is a wider set of responses.
Platforms
Windows and macOS are supported today. A Linux build is announced as coming and is not yet available.
